Spring Fling-- Sneak Peak

I think I've found something that I'm going to be OBSESSED with for this season. My "spring fling" if you would.

If mother nature won't give me roses, I'll make them myself!

Watch the Etsy store for a new listing. This banner might just be my favorite yet.

Wedding Season is Coming!

It's mid March in Idaho which means that the snow is finally starting to head north and the tulips are peeking their heads out. It's been beautiful the last few days! I can definitely be a snow bunny, but, I always love this time of the year. I especially love being able to go outside without looking like the kid from A Christmas Story.

Hello from Idaho in January!

But with warmer weather comes wedding bells. In the last 48 hours I've had several orders for Love Lyric Banners from the Esty store. I assume this means that Etsy is starting to get into wedding season too!

I can't wait to see pictures of brides and grooms with their banners. The most exciting part about Etsy so far has been the pictures that come from my clients. It is so awesome to see something I created in their homes or on their special day! It's one of my favorite things.

If you haven't seen the Love Lyric Banners I encourage you to go check them out. I am a huge music fan, so the banners are some of my favorite things I've made in a long time. I can't wait to hang some at my own wedding. I keep listening to the radio and scribbling down lines that I need to make.

So, what is "your" song?

Great Grandma's Little Bragbook

This Christmas I lost my mind and decided that I would give out a million mini albums. Okay, it wasn't really a million, but boy did it feel like it when I was crafting at 4am Christmas Eve night after wrangling my 4 month olds all day.

The results, however, were great. for a minimal amount of money I managed to make several mini books that I was exceptionally proud of. But, this one was my favorite! I took the pictures after they were all completed (ummm, early Christmas morning?) so they aren't perfect, but, I think you'll get the general idea.

Back Cover

The majority of the book is taken from the paper pack Tattered Time by Die Cuts With A View (DCWV). I snuck in some scraps of polka dots too. I tend to do A LOT of sewing on my projects because I a) always run out of adhesive and thread is cheap, and b) think it adds a lot of character. I'll try to do a good tutorial on machine showing on paper in the future. I will tell you that I am terrified of actually using my sewing machine on fabric (haha!).

This book was tiny. If I remember correctly it was only about 2.5"x5". Great Grandma lives in Hawaii so I wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to take up a lot of room in her suitcase on the way home. She seemed to really enjoy it.

The back cover is one of my favorite photos of the twins. The photographer who took our newborn photos is named Ellie King. She's amazing, and if you need a photographer in the Boise area definitely call her. The stamp with my name was a Pick Your Plum deal, and I can't remember for the life of me what the company is that made it. I LOVE that stamp.

Hope you guys enjoyed the project!

Hello!

Welcome to Lucky Pair's Blog. This is a place where I hope to share my creative ideas and cultivate a community of support and creativity. So far I have received a warm welcome from the Etsy community, so I have been anxious to start a blog as well!

A little bit about me:

I'm a stay at home mom of new twins. Arianna and Blake were born in July of 2012. They are the source of a lot of laughs, loves, and sleepless nights. They are my firsts, and they are fraternal (not identical). And no, twins don't run in my family (I get asked those a lot, haha!).

7 Months and Personality Filled

Before I was a SAHM I was the manager of a local Veterinary Hospital for five years. From that hospital I acquired my first child, Pidgit:

He is a teenaged Pomeranian, although I like to think of him more as a German Shepherd. He is not your typical ankle biter.

Before the Veterinary Hospital I worked at local scrapbooking stores. I've really been scrapbooking for my entire life, it seems. You may have heard of my mother (and if you haven't, you will!), she is Jann from Feathered Impressions

I probably won't talk about my family too much (I spend 24/7 with them already). My intention for this blog is to be a creative outlet. I like to think of it as a giant crop party from my couch. Sometimes, mommy needs a little "me" time... and this is it! But I suppose an occasional cute baby photo might weasel its way in.

So, let's get crafting!
